Hands down, the best place to have both a wedding and reception. With tons of open space, a absolutely gorgeous house, picture perfect settings for photos, etc... What more needs to be said? An easy 5 stars!.
There are a lot of really great venues within Birmingham and the surrounding areas. So, to pick just one to be "the best" or "most favorite" wasn't an obvious choice at first.
My thought process in deciding was "If my wife and I were getting married today, where would I want our wedding to be that encompasses everything I'm looking for in a location?". And after thinking about it a bit, The Sonnet House would definitely be my first choice. ( I've been fortunate enough to attend 3 weddings there, and for one I was a groomsman. Unfortunately for my wife and I, The Sonnet House has only been in business a little over 2 years, so it wasn't even in operation when we got married. )
Obviously, the first thing that the Sonnet House has going for it is that the place is absolutely gorgeous. The house, the grounds, the chapel, the old barn, the large old elm tree, the ceremonial stage, the amazingly beautiful red claw-foot tub in the bathroom, etc... It's really like something out of a book. The amount of beautiful photo opportunities are abundant at The Sonnet House (And that would definitely be a very, very big decision for me in choosing where to have my big day. I do a great deal of photography and pay very close attention to location details).
If I had anything additional to add, I believe it would be 1) that the family that runs The Sonnet House is super nice and very professional, 2) it's really nice that they have only one wedding a day 3) they are MUCH closer into Birmingham than you would think (In fact, my first trip out to the SH, I was shocked at how close it actually is. Doesn't even seem like it's in Leeds).
The Sonnet House is so wonderful, it is very calm and serene looking amd very classic. Jared and Corey are the best in the business, they can handle anything and they handle everything. Your wedding dreams will come true at "The Sonnet House"
Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful but the guys who run everything are fantastic! I got married in October 2009 and they were my favorite vendors. I didn't have to worry about anything b/c they already had it all taken care of. You cannot go wrond planning any event at the Sonnet House.

lovely facility, tasteful decor, owners are top notch at what they do; every event i've attended at the sonnet house has gone very smoothly, and rooms are interesting the allow guests to flow comfortably
